Kā Puananī o te Reo is a te reo Māori kaupapa initially estalished in 2010 by families who had committed to the te reo Māori in their families and who wanted a te reo Māori option within mainstream schooling. The schools in which each of these families had their children didn't have the capacity to offer the level of language that these children needed.
Initially the schools involved took care of the administration but in 2018 He Waka Kōtuia took over the administration of this kaupapa. We hired Jaime Tutbury as our teacher and she had organised for the tamariki to go out with Brendan Flack and the whānau at Hauteruruku Waka Club to learn waka ama.
