We were asked to perform a mihi whakatau and to entertain at the Private Capital Finance Conference in Queenstown. We took a van load of performers through to Queenstown and stayed in an AirBnB in the city. The Mihi Whakatau took place in Kelvin Heights early in the morning of October 24. We had a few hours to kill before our performance up at the Skyline Restaurant that evening so we stopped for lunch in Glenorchy and spent some time in Queenstown looking at the shops.
In the evening we made our way up the gondola to the Skyline and prepared for our performance. There were about 500 people in the conference. It was an amazing performance, with every performer in the zone despite the fact that only the people at the front of the audience were paying us any attention. In our last item one of our performers had an episode on stage. We finished the performance and the group exited the stage. Then as they were getting changed another performer also had an episode. Both needed further medical attention. It was certainly a night to remember and the beginning of HWK Queenstown based performances.
