As Covid-19 started to have more of an effect worldwide, we decided to shut down our He Waka Kōtuia activities. We cancelled our Cruise Ship performance scheduled for the March 12, we cancelled Waewae Kai Pakiaka, the Kī-O-Rahi tournament scheduled for Otago Anniversary Day and all practices and noho until we knew what was going on with the virus. We kept a small online presence with haka fit, and although we did have plans to push the online stuff a bit harder, we had already seen the drop off in energy and commitment so decided to not to push them during this time.
