An early start to 2021 saw the kapa invited to perform at the Burns Supper, an annual event that celebrates Burns poetry and one of the few places in the world that still carries out a Haggis Ceremony.
With no time to practice since the end of 2020 we cobbled together a crew and hit the floor with an old favourite, 'Mori', and our waiata-ā-ringa from 2019, 'Moea te Wahine'. It felt great to be performing again and even though we had a small crew, they rose to the occasion. Next year we will look at translating or reinterpreting a Burns poem to perform at this event.
